Summary
The KAD Team Master™ course provides attendees with the understanding of the role of a KAD Master. The KAD role of Master is for people that are accountable for continuously improving a team’s productivity, quality and delivery capacity by facilitating a self-organising, continuously learning team.
This course trains participants to become leaders that continuously learn to facilitate, delegate and coach team members to grow as self-organising leaders.
It provides an interactive learning simulation to practice the KAD continuous learning and problem solving way of thinking so they have the ability to coach others.
The certificate of completion for the KAD Team Master™ course is a pre-requisite to collecting the evidence from their on-the-job implementation and then passing the KAD Team Master™ exam to achieve KAD Team Master™ Certification.

Learning Objectives
To perform the role of a KAD Team Master, participants will:
- Describe the Kanban Accelerated Delivery (KAD) ways of working
- Outline and coach others on the 5 steps of Continuous Learning using Experiments with Scientific Thinking (CLEST)
- Describe their responsibilities as a KAD Master
- Facilitate the regular Daily Kanban Catchup
- Facilitate continuous learning via the Delivery and Planning Kanban Boards
- Use KAD Measurements to lead productivity and quality improvements to the team’s ways of working across multiple Kanban Boards
- Facilitate the mitigation or removal of obstacles to service delivery productivity and quality amongst one or more Kanban Boards
- Champion escalation of obstacles and conflict negotiation

Who Will Benefit?
Persons who will benefit from the KAD Team Master™ course:
- Line managers or project managers that juggle the competing priorities the work of a team, unit or area deliver; or
- Persons that manage the capacity and competing priorities of work on at least one KAD Kanban Delivery Board and/or KAD Kanban Planning Board.
In an organisational chart KAD Team Masters™ typically are a manager or lead one or more delivery teams.
Job titles that commonly manage service delivery include (though not limited to):
- Unit/Line Manager
- Delivery Manager
- Team Leaders
- Project Manager
- Program Manager
Prerequsites
There are no curriculum prerequisites to attend the KAD Team Master™ training.
Fluency in reading and writing English is required.
For portions that can be supplemented with online learning, fast and reliable internet access is required to watch the videos.
Having personally used or seen a kanban board as a tool to visualise work is helpful but definitely not essential. There are graphs used in KAD Measurements for team kanban, however in depth knowledge of statistics is not required.
Accreditation Pathway
To apply for Certification as KAD Team Master™, participants are required to:
- Knowledge – Attend classroom training to obtain a KAD Team Master™ Certificate of Completion; then
- Behaviours – Practice applying the knowledge, then have a KAD mentor observe the accurate application of course knowledge through consistency of behaviours on the job to obtain a Certificate of Competency; and then
- Examination – Pass the KAD Team Master™ online exam to obtain a Certificate of Certification.
KAD certifications expire twelve months from the date of issue.
Accreditation Kit
Each of the three certificates (Knowledge, Behaviour and Examination) that demonstrate an applicant’s progress along the accreditation pathway are recorded in the KAD portal.
Applicants who have obtained all three KAD Team Master™ certificates within twelve months receive:
- A Certified KAD Team Master™ Certificate
- A Certified KAD Team Master™ digital badge to promote your achievement
- A one-year membership as a KAD Team Master™ to the KAD portal
- Access to a variety of learning resources to support accredited professionals in their application of KAD ways of working
Digital badges are exclusive to those who have achieved all three levels (Knowledge + Behaviour Competency + Examination) as accredited for a team role. Badges are downloaded from the KAD portal.
