Where is the Assignee field?

When using the EasyKAD™ Kanban Board application, the Assignee field is replaced by the Howie field.

Assignee is a single user picker field.  This means that only one person shows on the card, regardless of how many other people are collaborating on sub-tasks to get that card into the Done column.

In contrast, the Howie field may have one or multiple persons on the card.  This makes visualising pair work, collaboration and team work much easier.

Kanban is a scheduling system.  Originally, a kanban card represented the customer order that travelled with the product as it progressed through various assembling work stations or activities.  Kanban cards were never meant to represent an individual person’s tasks.  They were designed to be shared with many people and many teams who collaborate together to serve the customer.  So Kanban Boards signalled where in the process customers’ orders were delayed or flowing.

Revisiting this intention, it is clear that task boards, filled with task cards by one person fall short of maintaining focus on the customer.  A customer does not care one little bit how many tasks it takes to receive their product.  However, they do care about how fast they receive their order and having it fulfilled accurately and to the expected quality.
